The Governors in the South East zone of Nigeria met for seven hours in Enugu on Tuesday to discuss issues of common interest. The meeting ended without a communiqué.
The meeting, held at the Governor’s Lodge in Enugu, was attended by Peter Obi of Anambra, Theodore Orji of Abia, Martin Elechi of Ebonyi, and the host, Sullivan Chime of Enugu. The Governor-elect of Anambra, Mr Willie Obiano, was also present. Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo was absent.
The governors dashed out in their cars without uttering a word to journalists. A source close to the governors said they discussed and disagreed with issues concerning the forth coming national conference.
The source also said the forum would announce a replacement of Gov. Obi as the Chairman as he bows out in March.
