Heart-eating Maryland cannibal pleads guilty to murder

HARFORD COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
Alexander Kinyua, right, an electrical engineering student at Morgan State University, told police that he murdered roommate Kujoe Bonsafo Agyei-Kodie, left, and ate his heart and parts of his brain.

A Maryland cannibal pleaded guilty on Monday to charges he killed a man and ate his heart and part of his brain.

Despite admitting first-degree murder, Alex Kinyua, 22, won’t be held criminally responsible in the 2012 murder of 37-year-old Kujoe Bonsafo Agyei-Kodie.

Kinyua, a former Morgan State college student, told authorities he used a knife to kill and carve his former roommate before eating the man’s organs.

Agyei-Kodie, a native of Ghana, lived with Kinyua for about six weeks before he disappeared in May 2012 from their townhouse. Kinyua initially denied knowing anything about his roommate’s death, but eventually led authorities to a church dumpster where he’d hidden most of the body, CBS 13 reported.
