Snails crawl on faces in Japanese anti-aging treatment

Snails can help heal skin damaged by ultraviolet rays, according to the salon.

What's the secret to eternal youth?

Apparently, it's letting a live snail slime its way all over your face.

That's the claim from a Japanese beauty salon, which says mollusk mucus contains anti-aging properties crucial in the fight against looking older.
Bosses at the Clinical Salon in Tokyo say its potent mix of proteins, antioxidants and hyaluronic acid helps skin retain moisture, soothes inflammation and removes dead skin.

And they are now offering a 60-minute Celebrity Escargot Course costing $245, where clients' faces are cleansed before being set upon by the salon's five snails.
The pricey treatment also includes a series of facial massages, masks and the use of an electrical pulse machine.

"Snail slime can help the recovery of skin cells on the face, so we expect the snail facial to help heal damaged skin," said sales manager Yoko Miniami.
"We are [also]interested in the fact that snails have a function that can help heal skin damaged by ultraviolet rays," she added to the Telegraph.

That's Great...but is there no other way to harness such gift of nature technologically wise???
