A pilot and nine passengers were killed Sunday when a small commuter plane crashed on takeoff at an airport in Alaska.
The fixed-wing aircraft, described by investigators as a de Havilland Otter Air Taxi that can seat up to 20 passengers, crashed at 11:20 a.m. at the Soldotna Airport near Anchorage.
