EBONYI FIRST LADY DISBURSES N2.3MILLION TO 25 LESS PRIVILEGED CENTRES


Wife of the Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Mrs. Josephine Elechi has disbursed over N2.3million worth of materials to 25 less privileged centres spread across the 13 local government areas of the state.

Speaking to journalist shortly after the disbursement, Mrs. Elechi noted that the state government through her pet project; mother and child care initiative (MCCI) is poised to assist to alleviate the sufferings and poor condition of the less privileged in the state.

She enjoined parents to shun the attitudes of exposing their children to dangers through hawking.

The governor’s wife warned managements of the 25 centres to utilize the items giving to them to better the lots of the targeted beneficiaries; saying she would not tolerate noncompliance with the directives of the government.

In another development, as part of activities marking the 17th and the 53rd anniversary of the creation of Ebonyi State and Nigeria independence, Mrs. Elechi distributed another educational support material such as school bags, sandals, uniforms and books to 120 vulnerable and orphan children selected from the 13 local government areas of the state.

The children made up of 72 primary school pupils and 48 secondary school students at the government house, advised the children to abstain from attitudes that are capable of thwarting their education carriers.

Performing the ceremony at the Ebonyi State government house premises in Abakaliki, Mrs. Elechi called on well-todo individuals in the society to always contribute and share with the less privileged in the society.
