Elisabeth Hasselbeck bids farewell to 'The View'

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is expected to announce Wednesday on 'The View' that she is leaving the hit talk show to join FOX News. 

After much speculation, Elisabeth Hasselbeck is leaving “The View” — and will be signing on to FOX News Channel’s morning yakfest, “Fox & Friends.”

According to a network press release, FOX News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes confirmed that the 36-year-old TV personality will replace “Fox & Friends” co-host Gretchen Carlson, who will subsequently anchor her own one-hour daytime program beginning in early fall.

"Elisabeth's warm and engaging personality made her a star on The View," Ailes said. "She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist, and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise."
